Calling all Readers and Writers: Book Bomb Today for Seriously Injured Son of Author David Farland

If you are a writer, a reader, an adventurer, a homebody…

If you are a father, a mother, a brother, sister, aunt, uncle, a grandparent…

If you have experienced a serious health crisis, or know someone who has…

If you know what it’s like to stand at the side of a hospital bed, watching the monitors attached to a loved one, holding back the fear and the tears because there is no time for them, because you can’t let go now and still be there for your loved one…

If you are self-employed, or otherwise not covered by health insurance, holding off from every unnecessary medical expense, one major crisis away from financial disaster…

…then please help in any way your heart speaks to you.

Ben Wolverton after accident - 451x800Author David Farland’s son, Ben Wolverton, suffered serious injury last Wednesday in a long-boarding accident.  He remains in the hospital, in a coma, with severe brain trauma, a cracked skull, broken pelvis and tail bone, burnt knees, bruised lungs, broken ear drum, and road rash. Like many self-employed families, David Farland’s has no insurance.

In an attempt to raise funds to pay the massive hospital bills, and later rehabilitation fees, David Farland is holding a Book Bomb for Ben.

What’s a Book Bomb?  Glad you asked, because I had no idea either.  Turns out it’s an event where participants purchase a specific book on a specific day in order to help out the author.  In this case, the day is today, and the person in serious need is Ben Wolverton.  (If you’re reading this after Wednesday, 10 April 2013, don’t worry.  You can still click here to help out.)

So how can you help today?  By purchasing one, or both, books tied to the event.

(Synopsis)

Some people sing at night to drive back the darkness. Others sing to summon it. . . .

Bron Jones was abandoned at birth. Thrown into foster care, he was rejected by one family after another, until he met Olivia, a gifted and devoted high-school teacher who recognized him for what he really was—what her people call a “nightingale.”

But Bron isn’t ready to learn the truth. There are secrets that have been hidden from mankind for hundreds of thousands of years, secrets that should remain hidden. Some things are too dangerous to know. Bron’s secret may be the most dangerous of all.

Million Dollar Outlines

If you’re a writer, you’ll want to snatch up a copy of David’s book on outlining your manuscript.  Two weeks ago I reviewed Million Dollar Outlines, and can tell you from personal experience that after reading this book you will have a sharper focus on your storyline as you write.  It’s been a bestseller on Amazon for over a month and at only $6.99 is well-worth the price.

In Million Dollar Outlines, Dave teaches how to analyze an audience and outline a novel so that it can appeal to a wide readership, giving it the potential to become a bestseller. The secrets found in his unconventional approach will help you understand why so many of his authors go on to prominence.

As a bestselling author, David Farland has taught dozens of writers who have gone on to staggering literary success, including such #1 New York Times Bestsellers as Brandon Mull (Fablehaven), Brandon Sanderson (Wheel of Time), James Dashner (The Maze Runner) and Stephenie Meyer (Twilight).
